DATABASE FIELD HELP
| First, some definitions: "RECORD" refers to the total sum of information on the database about a particular bunny. A record is sometimes called a "segment". A record is made up of a number of "FIELDS". A "FIELD" contains a piece of information about the rabbit. Fields are sometimes called "COLUMNS". "FREEFORM" fields will accept most any kind of text characters. Spaces and punctuation marks are considered "characters". If there is a suggested format for a freeform text field (to ensure consistency and correct search results) it is shown in the MAXIMUM SIZE/FORMAT area below. "SELECTABLE" fields REQUIRE a choice to be made from the dropdown box and WILL NOT accept any other data. The NAME field is the KEY field. This is the unique identifier that distinguishes one record from the other. It is shown in RED in the chart below. Each rabbit's name MUST be unique and different from all the others. Rabbits with the same name are numbered, for instance, "BONNIE #1" and "BONNIE #2". | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
